Dr Simon Woldman is the Director of Barts Heart Centre and a Consultant Cardiologist there and at University College Hospital. Barts Heart Centre is one of the largest cardiovascular centres in Europe.

Dr Woldman provides private outpatient consultations at the Clementine Churchill Hospital (Harrow) and at London Medical (Marylebone High Street) and at the Nuffield Hospital at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

He is highly experienced in chest pain, breathlessness, heart palpitations, ankle swelling and collapse episodes. He has a special clinical interest in heart failure and infective endocarditis – a condition where bacteria or fungi infect the valves of the heart.

Dr Woldman completed his medical degree at Glasgow University in 1989. He was awarded the Andrew J. Hutton Medal and Prize in Surgery and the Asher Asher Memorial Medal and Prize in Otolaryngology. In 2002 he gained a doctorate (MD) from the University of Glasgow, before moving to the UCL Hospitals NHS (UCLH) Trust as Consultant Cardiologist.

The cardiology department at UCLH merged with that from St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the London Chest Hospital in 2015 to form Barts Heart Centre.  Dr Woldman became Director in 2019.

Dr Woldman is also chair of the North London Cardiac Operational Delivery Network that assists NHS hospitals to deliver cardiac care across North London.

Although appointments are usually made to the set clinic times, I am sometimes available to see patients at short notice. Patients from the UK should usually have a referral from their GP or other medical practitioner.

I see patients with the following symptoms:
•heart failure
•chest pain
•breathlessness
•palpitations
•ankle swelling
•collapse episodes
•any other cardiac concern

I do not see children under the age of 16 years
